Praziquantel is effective against external parasites (flukes and flatworms). It can be used in fresh or saltwater. Product is much safer than other anti-parasitic medications. Do not stop filtration, but remove activated carbon and stop foam-fractionation (protein skimming) and UV sterilization. Any water used should first be conditioned with AquaLife Complete Water Conditioner. Repeat as necessary, but no more than once every 3 to 5 days. May be used as a preventative, at the standard dosage, when disease is likely. Do not use with other drugs or disease treatments. It may cause temporary foaming. It is non-toxic to commonly kept aquarium animals or plants. Praziquantel is intended for freshwater or saltwater use.
Dosage: 1/4 teaspoon per 40 gallons of aquarium water. Dose 1 time and leave in the water for 5-7 days. Contraindications: There are no known contraindications to the use of Praziquantel except for use in marine (saltwater) systems where flatworms of the Polycladida order are being cultured.
Antibiotics and treatments are always safest when used in a hospital tank. Monitor ammonia and nitrite and use AquaLife Complete Water Conditioner. Change water as needed. It is not for fish used for human consumption.
Warnings: Can cause moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wash hands with soap and water after contact. Keep away from heat and bright light. It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
